Update Schedule
We’ve decided that there will be two types of update from now on Minor and Major

Minor Updates
These updates will be every 2-3 weeks and will contain bug fixes, changes and small additions to the game such as new blocks. (Like the updates we’ve done so far)

Major Updates
These updates will be released every 2-3 months and will contain things like new levels and major features

This isn’t set in stone and may need tweaking as development progresses but we feel this structure will allow us to provide regular content for those that just enjoy tinkering, whilst allowing us to spend time focussing on larger features and more levels.

In our last update announcement we talked about having to postpone minor updates to get the first major one out. Unfortunately the minor update schedule wasn't allowing us enough time to work on major features such as more levels. The schedule may be reworked after the next update. As we've previously said the schedule is subject to change, its very early days in the project and we still working to find the right balance between delivering regular content whilst ensuring we have the time to develop the longer term features.

So I spoke with the Devs today about how the update is going. Development is going well, they're still reluctant to state a deadline but there is an internal target. They're hoping to get the update out in about a week's time but as we get closer to being able to release it, we may encounter problems that cause a delay. That being said, we're all quite optimistic at this point!

I am eagerly awaiting....every time i load steam and see an item has been downloaded I hope and pray it's for Besiege. It hasn't been yet obviously but patience is a virtue and I am sure whatever comes will be worth the wait. Just don't be one of those dev companies that cashes in on early access purchases and then goes "bankrupt" and disappears (ie. Meteor games)....or I will find you all and end you with an overly complicated machine which will most likely suffer catastrophic failure resulting in my death. Do you want that blood on your hands?

I just saw that there was a minor update on May 23 adding 3 new parts and fixing several issues. I strongly recommend focusing on adding new levels in the next update.

New parts are fun and all, but these 15 levels are not a challenge whatsoever after the first time. There's only so much replayability when you're not challenged before it gets boring. I spent a lot of hours the first week on this game, exploring and making new machines, much like most people did with the Spore Creature Creator, but once you're done and have no challenges, it gets quite dull.

Personally, I haven't touched the game since that first week, and am not really interested in playing the game anymore until new levels are implemented. I'm just one user, but i feel there are others that share my opinion.

Yes, this is alpha. Yes, there's a lot of trouble-shooting involved, but you need to give your alpha testers more challenges over time, as the game progresses in development. The game's been released for 4 months now and, other than a few new tidbits here and there, nothing's really changed...not in difficulty or novelty, at least.

So yeah, I'd start cracking the whip on those Devs.

SUGGESTION THAT WILL MAKE MORE PEOPLE HAPPY:

If you guys are having a difficult time finding new ideas for maps, might i suggest giving us a map editor to create our own levels? That would not only add challenge (maps could be shared on forum like machines), but also present you with numerous ideas for your level development team.

"We are going to make updates every [insert few weeks to few months long time here]." We have seen this not to work in too many games. Lets hope this one really works.

i've spent aloooot of hours that week on this game building hundreds of different things. A mod isn't going to add levels is it? Until that happens, i'm out.

They did add a completely new island one month ago, people seemed hyped about that.

I liked it. But I got 240 hours into this and probably only a couple doing the levels. I am the opposite of the OP I would rather have more blocks and features to build with.

I hate to be "that guy" but do we have any news or an eta for the next update? I'd love even a minor update with some new parts ....my inspiration is running a bit low. : ( I love the game and it quickly became one of my favorites but that just makes me fiend for more.

"We aim to release V0.1 in around 6 weeks’ time, but before that we plan to tell you a bit more about those features mentioned above, so keep your eyes open for upcoming announcements." 23/05/2015
